So... yeah, it seems pretty legit. The email headers show a sequence of AT&T or SBC mail servers and IP addresses. There's nothing obviously fake about any of this. They even mentioned unimpressive Internet speeds from yesteryear, and they attached a DOCX file, so it's just as if I was talking to a real salesdrone who didn't actually know stuff about computers. It's pretty hard for the Russians to mimic that sort of thing.

This means AT&T is sending people spam. Just as if they were Russia or Ukraine or Nigeria. Doesn't "AT&T" have the word "American" in it?

Of course, I simply blocked AT&T forever, but I think the principle of the matter is worth talking about.

Ironically, AT&T says they have an anti-spam policy. Maybe that only applies to their customers, but not themselves? They also offer anti-spam services... But will AT&T's anti-spam filtering also block AT&T?

WTF, AT&T?
